Just popped a few bow ties I knitted up on my Etsy Shop. All made to order, so if there’s any other colour combos you’re interested in then I’ll see what I can do

These beautifully soft bow ties are hand loomed on my fine gauge knitting machine, using merino wool sourced from Italy. It has a black adjustable strap, which I have knitted with a slightly elasticated yarn to give extra comfort. £16 each

Happy pancake day! After stuffing our bellies with those circular delights, it’s time to do some good deeds. I have a mound of yarn that are desperately seeking a new, loving home.

Look at the sorry little sausages.

Like many of our loved ones, they come in all different thicknesses and weights, but I know they will all be useful for something, so if you can find it in your heart to take them, then we will all be very happy!

I’ve taken their pictures so you can get a closer look, but you are also free to come and have a browse. I’m only in Liverpool till next weds though so you’ll have to be quick!

Wooohaaa I got that Friday feeling! And I’m nearly all done making my knits and bits for the Made Here arts market on Sunday. It’s part of the amazing Threshold Festival that starts today.

Made Here support local creatives, and have fairs coming up all the time so keep checking back to their site to see when they’re coming up so you don’t miss out!

This Sunday at the Elevator Cafe should be a really great day, as they’ve got a load of bands on afterwards, and you can get discounted tickets if you come to the fair before, so there’s another reason you should get yourself down there!

Project valentine: Take 2

This valentine themed project was a little more successful. I decided to make a knitted collar using some of the shiny pink viscose yarn I found at the back of my den the other day, a straggly bit of vintage lace trim, and a heart button that had no family.

All these rejects came together to make something quite sweet. Keeping this one for myself, Happy Valentines to me!

I was thinking of joining a knitting circle soon, thought it would motivate me to practice more. So in the spirit of the looming day of valentine, I thought I’d try knitting a heart. As you can see, I definitely need the practice.

Pop ya collar

With the new year settling in, I’ve been thinking about re-vamping my wardrobe a little. Wanting to keep my purse strings tightly drawn, accessories are the way to go! So I made some knitted collars to spruce things up a bit

They are a double bed knit, knitted in merino wool. I plated two different coloured yarns to create a worn/marled look. I found the aztec style ribbon on sale at the amazing Abakan haberdashery we have here in Liverpool, I especially like the mustard coloured one! Think I’m going to put these two on my etsy shop before I make more for myself

Bring back the muff?

Ear muffs have worked their way back into our winter wardrobes this season, but what about the hand muff?? I’ve been seeing them around a fair bit lately, but not so much in the shops. Are they practical? I love the look of them, so thought I’d have a go!

Ok, I lied! I met a wonderful lady called Barbara this week who is an amazing talent. She owns a family boutique and alterations business on Leather Lane, and she can sew like the wind! She helped me put this together, and showed me all the stages so I can hopefully put one together myself. The knit is an old swatch and Barbara let me use some of her fur and fabric so i’ll have to get round to getting my own. I love the look of it though, so I’m going to knit some of my own pieces to put on the Etsy shop.
